How to Jack Up a Toyota Sienna to Change a Tire

If you don't know how to jack up your Toyota Sienna to change a tire, you may find yourself in a situation where you don't want to be. This is not difficult to do, and will help you if your stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. The jack and spare tire are in the trunk of the Sienna under the flooring. To access the jack you will need to lift the flooring of the trunk by pulling up on the carpet. Once you have lifted the carpet, the jack will be in plain sight. Just unscrew the securing nut and pull the jack out of the fitting.

      Look under the side of the Sienna and locate the support rail. This is a metal rail running the length of the frame about two or three inches under the Sienna. There is a notch in the rail where you will place the jack.

      Slide the jack under the Sienna and place the jack directly under the support rail. Remove the lug nuts from the tire before your start to lift the Sienna.

      Connect the jack handle to the jack. The handle has a hook on one end that connects to the jack. The connecting point on the jack is the small hole on the metal piece protruding from the end of the jack. Slide the end of the jack handle with the hook into the hole.

      Twist the jack handle in a clockwise motion. The Toyota Sienna will start to lift off of the ground. Raise the Sienna 3 inches off of the ground to give clearance for the removal of the tire.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before you start any work on your Toyota Sienna you will need to read the owners manual located in the glove box.

  • Not placing the jack on the support rail while jacking up your Sienna can cause serious damage to the frame.
